A 4m high gorilla made of 40,000 donated spoons commissioned by the world’s favourite spoon-bender Uri Geller.

Alfie designed and built the Spoon Gorilla shortly after talks with Uri Geller and the British Ironworks, (Alfie’ s previous employer). These discussions and ideas were also shared these with the BBC.

Uri had previously had a wonderful experience when he met and bonded with five chimpanzees, the smart primates even painted him some pictures. This unforgettable experience and story struck a chord with Uri as it did with many of those at the Centre.

These pictures now take pride of place in his home in Sonning-on-Thames, Berkshire. This is also where he features a range of unusual art work in his garden which he opens for charity five times a year.

The spoon gorilla was made from steel rods, stainless steel rods, stainless steel box section and stainless steel spoons.
